"Paris is always a good idea" -Audrey Hepburn
In conjunction with this, I am loving this Coldplay song off the Prospekt's March EP! As soon as I find the time at some point in March but maybe next quarter, I am going to labor over learning it. : )

Un avant-goût de la france
I went to Champagne bakery this morning for breakfast. It reminded me of France so much! The food is all really delicious but my goodness, the pastry case is so beautiful! And they do scones right! I think my obsession is finding all the locations in any vaccinity that make scones correctly (by my definition). Thus far for San Diego we have:
The Pannikin, Encinitas
The Rancho Bernardo Winery
Champagne Bakery
Coffee bean and tea leaf
Mmmmm my goal this spring (when I have more time) is to learn how to make scones ♥♥♥♥

Beatific.
Today...
I love french music.
I wish I could spend the whole day reading.
I want to paint.
I want so badly to see another country.
I will tell my mom that I love her.
I should catch up on my homework.
I kind of want to ride my bike.
I am resisting purchasing this. AHH.
I wish I could sit at the winery with Lindsay.
I want to hug more people.
I will wear my blue scarf.
I want to start studying spanish again.
I thought this video was great.

An old acquaintance I'm making into my friend.
I know, I know I'm a terrible blogger.
but I just thought I'd share in this brief moment that I've reconnected with something. A while ago, (gosh, a few years now actually!) a very dear friend (Stacy) gave me a little black book that was meant to be my creative outlet of thoughts, drawings, plans, wishes, inspirations, intentions... anything and everything. Well, as sometimes happens, this was a very honourable intention that went to waste on my part. It found a spot in every closet of every place I've lived in over the last few years... but it's out on a desk now, its time at long last here.
So now, at least once a week, I will try to create. Something. Anything that will help realize this creative surge I have been feeling lately. So stifled in my regimen, I feel that my creativity hibernates. And then I begin to be hopelessly and unrelentingly judgmental about what gets translated to the pages. And so I'm hoping that I begin anew what I so ambitiously intended, however long it may take me to fill its pages, I happily say that I am willing to try. And also to try to accept that I may love but one page in it when I finish. But that's one creative thought I'll bring to life.
and yes. I did just call a book my new friend. hmm.

flip flop weather.
It is a glorious day here in La Jolla. I am wearing flip flops for the first time in months! BUT, I couldn't help but notice these on sale at J.Crew. Every year I tell myself I will buy rain boots. Hmm are these the ones? I might go for the Navy Blue ones though...they would only whisper "look at me...." as opposed to "HEY! WARNING. Look at me!" In the meantime, I will embrace the sunshine and warm my little toes! Happy Wednesday!
PS-the yellow is kind of growing on me...

QT with Nik.
Oh man, is this going to be a New Year's Resolution post...?....? Yep i think it will be. Aside from the fact that we are now 12 days into the new year, I am hoping to spend a lot more quality time with Nik(on) in 2009. In fact, i am hoping to click this camera daily. So, we will see how this goes, we could just end up with a lot of terrible images of still objects around the house (taken at 11:58 pm). Happy Monday.

Cool art
I took a trip to San Fransisco yesterday and went to the Deyoung and the Asian Art museum. Two things took me by complete surprise. The first being the fact that the DeYoung museum was doing what they claimed was the FIRST Asian-American Art museum exhibit. This is 2009 and we're finally recognizing these pieces as art because finally it's understood that the two cultures can fuse in artwork? crazy. We got to hear about how laborious it was to rediscover artworks that had been lost as a result of the internment camps. Really cool story.
The second is this artist Al Farrow. He did a series about War and Religion, creating models of churches... while they were brilliant, it was the materials that made the piece. He used thousands of rounds and batteries and disassembled guns to construct the churches. It was amazing. So here are some photos.
